Audi Q3 - The second generation of the model was introduced in the summer of 2018. The car was built on the MQB platform, and the design was made similar to the flagship Q8. The similarity is especially noticeable in the octagonal grille, the complex relief of the sidewalls and the characteristic shape of the stampings above the wheel arches.

The new Q3 has grown significantly compared to predecessor. The length increased by 97 mm (up to 4485 mm), the width - by 25 mm (up to 1856 mm), and the wheelbase - by 77 mm (2680 mm). Only the height has decreased, but only by 5 mm (up to 1585 mm).

Already in the basic configuration, the car is equipped with LED-light, and for a surcharge, adaptive or matrix headlights are offered. Of course, in addition to the standard version, a “sporty” S line body kit with more aggressive bumpers and door trims is offered. Wheels can have a landing diameter from 17 to 20 inches.

The interior design of the Q3 stood out as compared to the younger Audi Q2, and relatively larger flagship models. From the arrow dashboard for this model, Audi refused and now even “in the base” there is a 10.25-inch display with drawn scales. However, for a full-fledged virtual cockpit with the ability to customize the image and a diagonal of 12.3 inches, you have to pay extra. Another innovation is that the outdoor lighting control unit now consists of three keys instead of the previous rotating handle.

Inside, attention is focused on the driver - the center console is turned ten degrees to the person behind the wheel, while, unlike other Audi novelties of this period, there is only one display, and climate control is concentrated in its own block with physical dimmers and keys.

The media system, depending on the configuration and set of options, can have a screen with a diagonal of 8.8 or 10.1 inches. In unison with modern trends, voice control, a Wi-Fi access point and the possibility of remote access from a smartphone are provided.

One of the highlights of the Audi Q3 is the ability to move the rear seats back and forth by 150mm. The backrests of the second row are divided into three sections in the ratio of 40:20:40 and are adjustable in tilt angle (seven fixed positions are provided). The trunk volume has grown from 460 to 530 liters, and with the rear sofa pushed forward to the stop, the compartment holds 675 liters. The maximum capacity with the rear row folded down is 1525 liters (in the previous generation it was 1365 liters).

In addition to the standard suspension, the second iteration of the Audi Q3 can be equipped with a stiffer sports or adaptive suspension. In addition, the list of options includes a system of all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control with a lane keep function, a car parker, an electric tailgate with kick-activation under the bumper, a panoramic roof, a heated steering wheel, and more.

At the beginning of the production cycle of the second generation Audi Q3, four motors were announced to choose from. All of them are four-cylinder and turbocharged - three petrol and one diesel. The basic version of the 35 TFSI received a 1.5 turbo engine (150 hp, 250 Nm), the 40 TFSI modification implies a two-liter engine with 190 hp. and 320 Nm, and in the 45 TFSI version, the same unit is boosted to 230 hp. and 350 Nm. Under the hood of the diesel Audi Q3 35 TDI is a two-liter turbo unit that develops 150 hp. and 340 Nm. In addition, a modification with a 190-horsepower diesel engine is promised.

All versions can be equipped with a six-speed "mechanics" or a seven-speed preselective "robot" S tronic. Drive - front or full (with a multi-plate clutch for connecting the rear axle). However, not all combinations of engines and transmissions were available from the start of sales. So, the front-wheel drive modification 35 TFSI and the all-wheel drive 40 TFSI quattro were the first to arrive in Ukraine, both with a “robot”.

The Audi Q3 is produced at the Audi plant in Hungary next door to the A3 and TT models.
