By the start of sales, the Audi A3 sedan will be equipped with one of three engines. A two-liter 150-horsepower diesel engine with 320 Nm of torque will accelerate the car to hundreds in 8.7 seconds. A smaller 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine with 140 horsepower is capable of 250 Nm and acceleration to the first hundred in 8.4 seconds.
The third engine is a turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol unit with 180 horsepower and is ready to hit 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The range of gearboxes will not surprise connoisseurs of the brand - all cars are equipped with either a two-clutch seven-speed S tronic robot or a six-position mechanics.
The most evil Audi S3 sedan keeps 300 horses under the hood, ready to break to the first hundred in 4.9 seconds with a robot or 5.3 seconds with a manual. The sports version differs from the base sedan with a lowered and reconfigured suspension, large brake discs, an aerodynamic body kit and interior trim.
