The Audi A7 Sportback is a five-door fastback (in Audi the car is called the "four-door coupe of the Gran Turismo class"). The second generation of the model was introduced in October 2017. The prototype of the production car was the concept of 2014 Audi Prologue, while its design is consistent with the flagship A8 sedan.

The Singleframe grille on the A7 Sportback is lower and wider than on the Audi A8. Narrow headlights, an elongated hood, a long wheelbase (2926 mm), short overhangs, embossed wheel arches are designed to emphasize the sporty character of the model. The length of the Audi A7 Sportback reaches 4969 mm, width - 1908 mm, while the height is only 1422 mm. The new A7 Sportback can be equipped with three different optics. In the medium and maximum configuration, 12 light segments arranged in a row are separated by narrow stripes - an association with zeros and ones of the binary system of calculus. The HD Matrix LED headlights are equipped with Audi laser light as the maximum equipment. Standard equipment includes standard LED headlights.

Like the previous generation model, the body of the car tapers at the rear like the stern of a yacht. The trunk lid ends with a curved trim, from which the built-in spoiler automatically extends at a speed of 120 km/h. As with all top-of-the-line Audi models, the taillights, which consist of thirteen vertical segments, are connected by a flat light strip. When unlocking and locking the doors, a lighting animation is played in the rear lights and headlights.

The center console is turned towards the driver, while the 10.1-inch upper display, available in combination with MMI navigation plus, can be turned towards the driver. In the off state, due to the black panel and gray aluminum retainer, it is almost invisible against the background of the front panel. The case, on which this retainer is fixed, is itself shaped like a sculpture. When the doors are opened, the user interface graphics are shown on the display. IN an interior ambient lighting package is available as an option.

The driver controls the infotainment system via the upper display. The lower 8.6-inch display, located on the asymmetric console of the central tunnel, displays the climate system and comfort functions. This is where text input comes in. When the driver activates a function with the touch of a finger, an audible and tactile signal is generated as confirmation, similar to that played in smartphones with touch controls.

As an option for the Audi A7 Sportback, a head-up display is available that displays key information on the windshield. The MMI navigation plus includes the Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch display.

Variable ratio steering is already standard on the A7 Sportback. As the steering angle increases, the steering becomes even more precise. There are four suspension options to choose from: standard with steel springs, sporty with 10mm lower ground clearance, adaptive air with auto body leveling functions and suspension with electronic damping control.

A fully steerable chassis is available for the model, with which the rear wheels can turn five degrees. At speeds up to 60 km/h, they steer in the opposite direction to the front ones, improving agility, and if the car is going faster, they deviate in the same direction as the front ones, increasing stability. From the previous model, a rear sports differential with variable thrust vectoring was available as an option.

The new Audi A7 Sportback is equipped with a 3.0 V6 TFSI petrol engine. This power unit develops a power of 340 hp. With. and a torque of 500 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h with such a unit takes 5.3 s, and the maximum speed reaches 250 km / h. It is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission (dual-clutch robot) and quattro ultra all-wheel drive.

The Audi A7 Sportback is produced at the Audi Forum Neckarsulm plant in Germany.
