Audi A6, as in the case of the restyled A7 hatchback, the front-wheel drive “sixes” replaced the Multitronic variator with a seven-speed “robot” S tronic with two clutches. Other transmission options: an eight-speed "automatic", for which only one, the most powerful, diesel is offered, as well as a six-speed "mechanics" for the basic model options. Modifications with all-wheel drive quattro and more powerful than 272 forces can be retrofitted with a sports rear differential.
The A6 family engine range includes three petrol engines and five diesel engines, all of which meet Euro 6 environmental standards and their average CO2 emissions are reduced by 22 percent. Also, the model line includes two economical modifications called ultra. One of them is equipped with a 1.8 TFSI unit, consuming 5.7 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers, and the other with a two-liter diesel engine, consuming 4.2 liters.
For the A6, the top-end three-liter gasoline and diesel engines have been upgraded, which have become more powerful. The first one now develops 333 forces, and the “heavy fuel” unit is offered in several power options: 218 and 272 forces (with one turbine), 320 forces (biturbo), as well as 327 and 346 forces (in the competition special version).
In addition, the "charged" modification of the S6 has become more powerful. Its four-liter "eight" with two turbines boosted from 420 to 450 forces. The acceleration time from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour for the sedan decreased by four tenths of a second and by three tenths for the station wagon - up to 4.4 and 4.6 seconds, respectively. The power of the top version of the RS6 remained the same - 560 hp.
The model is produced at the company's plant in Germany.
