Audi A6 - the fifth generation of the model (C8) was presented in 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Compared with the previous generation, the dimensions of the sedan have not changed much. In length, the car stretched out by 7 mm (up to 4939 mm), added 2 mm in height (1457 mm), and was heard by 12 mm (up to 1886 mm) in width. Also, the wheelbase has grown by 12 mm (now 2924 mm). The design, as expected, echoes the flagship Audi A8 - there are characteristic punchings of the waist line and a huge radiator grille, even the chrome line between the rear lights is in place. However, in details, the lighting design of the “six” is still different from the older sedan. In addition, the A6 stands out with short overhangs front and rear. 

The interior of the new Audi A6 is almost entirely borrowed from the A7. There is a 12.3-inch virtual dashboard in front of the driver, a 10.1-inch display in the center of the console, which is responsible for the media system and car settings, and an 8.6-inch screen is installed on the “rib” between the transmission selector and the central display for climate control. The highlight of the new digital complex is tactile feedback, when pressing the display responds with a slight vibration.

The list of additional options includes a projection on the windshield, matrix LED headlights, four-zone climate control, multi-contour front seats with ventilation and a massager, as well as adaptive cruise control with lane keeping function. Such a system involves five radars, five cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors and a laser scanner.

The first two powerful modifications of the new Audi A6 were presented: 55 TFSI and 50 TDI. Both are built according to the “mild hybrid” system with a starter-generator and a lithium-ion battery, which allows the automation to turn off the engine in traffic jams and when coasting at speeds up to 22 km / h, and then start at traffic lights as soon as the car starts moving in front.

The Audi A6 55 TFSI is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged "six" with a capacity of 340 hp. (500 Nm), a seven-speed S tronic robot and a quattro ultra all-wheel drive transmission with two rear wheel couplings. In this configuration, the sedan accelerates from standstill to 100 km / h in 5.1 s.

The 50 TDI version is equipped with a 3.0-liter "turbo diesel" with 286 hp. (620 Nm) and the traditional eight-speed "automatic", as well as permanent all-wheel drive with a self-locking center differential.

For the new generation of the sedan, four suspension options are provided: three with springs (standard, sport and adaptive) and pneumatic. Fixed caliper front brakes and adaptive wave gear steering are standard. An optional all-wheel steering chassis is available with which the rear wheels can lean up to five degrees.
