Audi TT RS - all truly sporty Audi models receive the abbreviation RS in the name, behind which the German words Renn and Sport (races and sports) are hidden. The car was developed by GMBH's quattro division and debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. In 2010, the company updated the entire TT family, and with it the RS modification. The "charged" version received a slightly modified appearance and optional LED optics. The technology in the car has not changed.
The Audi TT RS is powered by a 2.5 TFSI turbocharged five-cylinder engine. Maximum 340 hp achieved in the range of 5400-6500 rpm. But the most remarkable thing is that the peak torque of 450 Nm is produced by the “five” from the very bottom - in the range of 1,600-5,300 rpm. Just like on "momentary" diesel units! 4.2 liter engine Audi R8 and then it produces a maximum of 430 Nm at 4,500-6,000 rpm.
Paired with "mechanics" coupe accelerates to a hundred kilometers per hour in 4.6 seconds. With a robotic seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission, acceleration time is reduced to 4.3 seconds. The maximum speed in both cases is limited at around 250 km / h, but for a surcharge it can be moved and thereby increase the “maximum speed” to 280 km / h.
The Audi TT RS is all-wheel drive by default and is equipped with a Haldex multi-plate clutch in the rear wheel drive. The 370mm front brake discs were specially designed for the RS version. In addition, compared with 272-horsepower Audi TTS the 340-horsepower "er-esque" suspension is lowered by 10 mm, a static rear wing is installed, and the air intakes in the front bumper are also increased.
The wheels are available in eight different designs and range from 18 to 20 inches. Despite all its sporty focus, the Audi TT RS is by no means a Spartan car. Several types of leather trim are available for the model, as well as a premium Bose sound system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer.
Serial production has been established at the company's plant in Hungary, from which all models of the Audi TT family roll off the assembly line.
