Audi S8 - the third generation of the model was presented at the end of 2011 at the international motor show in Frankfurt. The main innovation in the “charged” sedan was a high-tech 4.0 TFSI V-shaped eight-cylinder engine with dual supercharging and direct injection. Maximum 520 hp it gives out at 6,000 rpm. But the main thing is the peak 650 Nm of torque, which is achieved in a wide range from 1,700 to 5,500 rpm. At the same time, 400 Nm is completely available at idle!
Thanks to the Start / Stop system, which turns off the engine during stops, as well as Cylinder on Demand technology, which turns off half the cylinders when driving quietly, the Audi S8 is ready to fit in just 10.1 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers in mixed mode.
From 0 to 100 km/h the sedan accelerates in 4.2 seconds. According to this indicator, the Audi S8 is the class leader, furnishing and 510-horsepower Jaguar XJ Supersport, and 544-strong BMW 760i, and 612-strong Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG.
The Audi S8 comes as standard with quattro permanent all-wheel drive, a speed-assisted rear sports differential, 10mm lower suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, an 8-speed automatic with manual shift function, and Audi Drive Mode Select. Drive Select, in which the driver can adjust the settings for the engine, transmission, shock absorbers, differential and even exhaust sound.
As options for the Audi S8, 21-inch wheels, ceramic brakes, premium acoustics, seats with ventilation, massage and 22 electric adjustments are offered.
Serial production of the Audi S8 has been established in Germany.
