Audi R8 Spyder- Two gasoline power plants are available for the car. The 4.2-liter V8 engine produces both 430 hp and 430 Nm of torque. The power of the second available engine, a V-shaped ten-cylinder unit with direct injection, is 525 hp, peak torque is 530 Nm.
The basic transmission for engines is a “mechanics” with six gears. But since the summer of 2012, for the updated coupe and convertible, they began to offer a preselective seven-speed S Tronic as an alternative. If paired with a manual gearbox, the 430- and 525-horsepower modification of the Audi R8 Spyder accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in 4.8 and 4.1 seconds, respectively, then with the robotic Tronic, these figures improve by 0.3 seconds - 4, 5 and 3.8 seconds respectively.
The body of the convertible is made of aluminum and carbon fiber. The soft material roof is equipped with a hydraulic drive that can fold the top at speeds up to 50 km/h in 19 seconds. At the same time, even with the roof up, convertible passengers can enjoy the sound of the engine located behind the seats, because the rear vertical window can be lowered.
All versions of the Audi R8 Spyder are all-wheel drive. Among the options for the model are sports seats, adaptive adjustable suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, premium acoustics from Bang & Olufsen. The convertible is produced in Germany.
