Audi A5 Sportback- a restyled version of the model is offered on the market, presented in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In the standard version, the car is a four-seater, but listening to customers, the company has added a three-seater rear sofa, available as an option, to the updated car. In addition, the facelift model received a modified false radiator grille, upgraded optics and a new bumper.
A feature of the model is its "form factor". The fifth door opens in the same way as for hatchbacks and station wagons - along with the glazed part. At the same time, the Audi A5 Sportback does not have door frames, which in turn is borrowed from cars with a coupe body.
Structurally from a soplatform sedan Audi A4 the model has wider wheel tracks, which should provide a greater margin of longitudinal and lateral stability. In addition, the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, which normally distributes torque between the front and rear wheels in a ratio of 40:60, also helps to make the behavior of the A5 Sportback even more confident on the road.
For a surcharge, the car can be equipped with an active rear differential with variable thrust vectoring and lowered suspension, adding a sporty feel. Also available among the options is the Audi Drive Select system, which allows you to customize the steering, accelerator pedal and gearbox responses.
Both petrol and diesel engines are offered for the model. The base transmission is a six-speed “mechanics”, an alternative to which is the Multitronic CVT, provided for front-wheel drive versions, and the seven-speed “robot” S Tronic, available for all-wheel drive versions.
The closest competitor of the Sportback is a hatchback BMW 3 Series GT which will debut on the market soon.
The model has a sports version with a 333-horsepower engine - Audi S5 Sportback. The Audi A5 Sportback is produced in Germany.
