Audi A3 Cabriolet - a four-seater convertible built on the basis of the third generation A3, which shares its platform with a whole galaxy of VAG models (Seat Leon, Skoda Octavia And VW Golf VII ). Equipped with a soft automatic roof. You can lower or raise the top at speeds up to 50 km / h. The whole process takes 18 seconds.
The roof is available in two versions: normal and with improved sound insulation. In the latter case, in addition to black, you can choose gray or brown as an alternative for the fabric top. It is noteworthy that even when folded, there will still be 287 liters of free space for bags in the trunk.
If we compare the new Audi A3 Cabriolet with its predecessor, then the length of the two-door has grown from 4.24 to 4.42 meters, and the width - from 1.77 to 1.79 meters. At the same time, the height of the convertible decreased from 1.56 to 1.41 meters.
The list of options includes adaptive cruise control, lane control and assistance, traffic sign recognition, car parking, acoustics from Bang & Olufsen, a multimedia system with a seven-inch color display and Internet access.
Three types of upholstery are available for the seats: fabric, leather and a combination of leather and Alcantara.
Initially, the front-wheel drive Audi A3 Cabriolet will be offered with three engines:
petrol 1.4 TFSI (140 hp);
petrol 1.8 TFSI (180 hp);
diesel 2.0 TDI (150 hp).
The most powerful of the trio will be available with a seven-band "robot" by default, the other two - with a six-speed "mechanics".
During 2014, other engines will join the power units, in particular the 1.6 TDI engine (110 hp) and 2.0 TFSI (300 hp). The last engine will receive a sports version of the Audi S3 Cabriolet. The quattro all-wheel drive system will also be available for the model.
The Audi plant in Hungary was chosen as the place for the production of the convertible.
